One Lucky Winner to Storm Off in THUNDERTRUCK by Pfaff Designs.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (June 2007) When it comes to high-performance pickups, the Ford F-150 follows nature itself – first comes lightning, and then you get thunder. Enter THUNDERTRUCK, a custom one-off F-Series that picks up where Ford SVT left off with its Lightning. The best part is, thanks to a hot summer sweepstakes sponsored by Herculiner and Peak, someone can take home this trick show truck designed by Pfaff Designs!

THUNDERTRUCK isn’t a random happening. Ford performance expert Paul Svinski and his team at Paul's High Performance took a stock new F-150 and transformed its factory 5.4-liter modular mill into a 500-horsepower fire-breather, thanks to Ford Racing's twin-screw, intercooled supercharger, stainless-steel shorty headers, full exhaust and Paul’s own custom tune. The truck was then outfitted with an Air Ride Technologies suspension system and a SSBC brake upgrade.

To make the truck look as mean as its powertrain, it was then turned over to automotive designer Murray Pfaff, who was asked to bring his brand of striking style to the project. "The Ford F-150 already has bold, clean, strong lines", Pfaff noted, "but giving it a Cervini body kit made for an exciting canvas from which to work. The creative direction was to evoke acceleration and conjure up a very thunderous look. In the end, a simpler black-over-red design with an electrifying silver stripe flanked by contrasting pin stripes got the vote. Black wheels with red pinstripes add the visual icing – and let everyone know that this truck is more than just flash".

Style expert Tracy Tichenor of T&R Autobody then took over the build, adding the prescribed Cervini body kit and shaving the door handles before laying down the custom DuPont paint to match the Pfaff Designs rendering. Rollin on Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport tires on 20-inch Ford Lightning wheels, the end result is one undeniably wicked pickup!

As the sweepstakes title suggests, THUNDERTRUCK features a rolled-on HERCULINER Bed Liner with its tough, skid-resistant finish. The truck has been featured at point-of-sale displays in most major auto parts stores such as Pep Boys and CSK/Murray's stores since early May, when a national ad campaign got into full swing. Herculiner Brand Manager Brian Bohlander points out that Pfaff Designs really brought the project to life.

"Working with Murray was awesome," Bohlander said. "The quality of his digital renderings gave us instant marketing content which allowed us to fast-track the point of sale materials for our promotion. With Murray's design, our display materials were completed even before the truck left the builders! What’s more, his rendering is so realistic that it takes the place of the photographed truck in our free-standing store displays. Beyond the quality of his work, Murray truly understands – and is passionate about – the car hobby, which is very hard to find in an artist of this caliber. I will certainly work with Murray again on future projects!"

The HERCULINER and PEAK sweepstakes THUNDERTRUCK was unveiled on the Hot Rod Power Tour and will be featured on Hot Rod TV in early August. Plus, not only did it command six pages of coverage ("Project Thunderstruck") in the June 2007 issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, but it was also showcased at the first annual "Ford Racing Invitational" during the NMRA Ford Nationals at Milan Dragway June 15-17 in Michigan.

There's still time to register to win – at the THUNDERTRUCK display at your favorite auto parts store or online at the THUNDERTRUCK website at: http://www.herculiner.com/hrpt07/index.html -- as the sweepstakes runs through July 31, 2007. The lucky winner of THUNDERTRUCK will fly to Las Vegas for the famed SEMA show in November, when HERCULINER's pro bull rider, Wiley Petersen, will personally hand over the keys. Murray only asks that the winner comes back to Detroit next summer to do a big, stormy burnout during the Woodward Dream Cruise!
